2 Weeks Until The Tussle!

With just 2 weeks remaining until the Warmachine Tivvy Tussle, I wanted to give an update on where we are and fill in a little more details. First of all, we are currently at 50% of capacity with 8 tickets sold, but there are a couple more attendees giving verbal assurances, so I am currently planning for 10 players / 5 tables. This is awesome! However as we are very likely to be above 8 players, there is the chance of requiring the fourth game – but fear not, if your brain is frazzled by this point, the last game is an optional one (unless you are in competition for the top spot). If we end up with an odd number of players, those who get the Bye each round won’t go gameless – they can have a chance to beat the TO for a “friendly” game instead!

And what would those in the top spot be competing for? Well, SFG have provided for the first place prize (big thanks!), and then for second and below, my 3D printer has been working in overtime to make something for everyone – some of it is from the digital subscription (Cadre?!), but not exclusively so – there is still a little surprise about what is on offer. Not breaking with tradition, there will also be a Wooden Spoon for last place, but with a twist. This Wooden Spoon will have future value at a future event where it can be traded in for a benefit (not spoiling as I don’t want people to aim for the bottom!). I am eager to encourage people to come and play because even coming in last will be something meaningful.

The important bit – Player Responsibilities
Players will each need:

  • 2x 100pt Legal Army Lists (and all required models). Feel free to either add these to your Longshanks event registration, or just show me on your device during registration at the start of the day.
  • Measuring implements, Dice & Tokens – Remember, if your spell effect is not on the board then any disputes will not be found in your favour!
  • I will make sure that there are enough power sockets for devices / battery banks to be charged through the day, but these sockets have no guarantee of being near the tables, so plan accordingly.

This is *not* a fully painted required event, however, attendees will be invited to put a single mini that is painted up for the lunchtime painting competition – the winner will be determined by a secret ballot of all attendees. In the event of a tie, I will decide the final winner.

Food, Drink and Refreshments
The club will have cans of Coke Zero (£1) or bags of Walkers crisps (50p) available on the day, with proceeds going to help support the club, and there will be tap water available to refill drinks bottles if you run empty. For a more substantial lunch than just crisps and coke, you can either bring your own, or find The Great British Takeaway just 4 mins walk away, I expect that a few will all be heading that way…

Lastly – If you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, find the button here, and if you haven’t registered on Longshanks yet, please do that here.
